Great Chiropractic Mentors

Visiting a chiropractor is often about healing the body or keeping the body well. Raising three boys in Scarborough, combined with working as a nurse, lead Dr. Kent’s mother, Beverley, to recognize and appreciate the value of natural healing as a path to maintaining wellness. According to Dr. Kent:

Once I found out what a chiropractor really did and saw all the people he was able to help, I realized I wanted to pursue chiropractic as a profession. I wanted to help people, naturally. I’ve been fortunate to have a lot of great mentors in my life, mom and dad included. My chiropractor was one of them. He allowed me to shadow him in his office for several days and my decision was confirmed.

A Well-rounded Education

Dr. Kent attended the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in Toronto. Living at home during his schooling meant fewer stresses and more prepared meals which helped him body, mind and spirit. The course load was rigorous and the hours were long and varied. One of the best parts of the course was meeting other students who were like-minded about health. Chiropractic college exposed him to many different practice styles and areas. This experience helped Dr. Kent identify what his own definition of health was. Dr. Kent has taken advanced training on treating infants, toddlers and pregnant women. He is trained in the Webster Technique and is ICPA Certified.

Supporting the Alliston Community

Alliston Chiropractic Wellness Centre holds two separate food drives per year to support The Good Shepherd Food Bank. On these days, no fees for treatment are collected. Instead, we ask that patients bring in food, or a gift or toy for a child. Dr. Kent’s mother, Beverley, loved charity work, and Dr. Kent recalls helping at soup kitchens in Scarborough on Christmas Eve. When she passed on, the clinic started participating in supporting our local community through the food bank to keep her legacy alive.

Loving Life

Dr. Kent and his wife Victoria have two children, a daughter and son. They’re an active family who can often be found hiking, biking, swimming and enjoying the outdoors. Snowboarding is a favorite winter activity as it has been a lifelong passion of Dr. Kent’s and Victoria’s, which they have now passed on to their children.

“I absolutely love to experience life with my family, for every day is a blessing and I feel we should live and love life to its fullest. Nothing is better than creating memories with your family. Life really is a miracle!”
