Start 2017 Well

Add Instead of Subtract

When it comes to resolutions, a lot of people start by promising to “give up” bad foods. Instead, try to focus on adding healthier options to your diet, including more glasses of water each day.

Make Breakfast Mandatory (only if you want to lose weight)

You’ve heard it before but it’s worth repeating: Breakfast is the most important meal of the day!
“Skipping the first meal of the day can increase risk for obesity more than fourfold,” Dr. Oz says. “If you don’t eat right when you wake up, your body senses a famine is coming and slows your metabolism to compensate. Then, when your body is presented with food later, it’s ravenous and wants to pack it in, leading to bingeing with a slow metabolism—a recipe for weight gain.”

Drink Plain Water

Drink water, not sugary juices or vitamin-infused water and not caffeine. Caffeine is a diuretic causing you to lose more water. Just clean pure water. Some suggest that you drink 1oz of water for every two pounds you weigh as a guideline.

Get Into Bed

The bedroom is used for two things (one of those is sleeping). The effects of not getting enough shut eye include: changes in your immune function, brain function, depression, weight gain, diabetes, moodiness, high blood pressure and heart disease.

Your Body Was Meant to Move

Just move. It can be going up the stairs (try going up two at a time), for a walk outside or in a mall. Try for 75 minutes each week of whatever activity you like to do. Schedule time to exercise.

Get Adjusted

You should know why treatments are important! Adjustments help to maintain the most important system in your body: your nervous system. Don’t forget to also do any specific exercises you have been given to help hold your adjustments.

The Gift of Health

If you know someone who would benefit from chiropractic, give them “The Gift of Health”. The Gift will allow them to have a complimentary exam, x-ray and two weeks of care during the month of January 2017.
